Puerto Rico, April 2 1938
I haven’t mailed this because I thought Lars good friends would not forget him and yesterday a letter came so he and we weren’t cheated. Thank you. I had actually thought that we, you and us should have the percentages of the packages Mr. Schmutz gets anyway cheaper than if he should buy in St. Thomas but that’s probably too late now. the price list has already been sent. Well, maybe they already thought about all that and have used the money in another way. And maybe better than rum. Valdemar, be now careful you take it against the cold. The last days Peter has had a very bad cold and the first evening he said it will be gone in the morning and he went to bed early and got a hot cup of tea with some rum in it and after that a big swallow straight. Yes, and good morning, half an hour afterwards he started to throw up like a bullet out of a canon and offered the good rum to the harbors Neptune. Congratulations with the washroom with the new bathtub, it’s probably Marie’s burning wish. We would be happy to move along. Imagine to swim around in the bath tub every Saturday evening but I hope the rent wouldn’t be too expensive for us. Should we send a couple of Coconut Palms and Banana palms and such? I must admit that I absolutely can’t remember any garden in front of the house except for just a little efeu planter.
Now we are soon ready to start hopefully to Florida directly to Miami and the next address will be the Danish Consulate West Palm Beach, Florida. And so, dear friends, with the hope of the assume to hear from you, and many loving greetings,
yours sincerely, Lars, Anne, Peter and Else.
