Dear Vacationing folks! Welcome back home again. Yesterday we finally reached Poole, in excited anticipation that the mail was laying waiting for us and Marie and Valdemar didn’t let us down. No less then 4 letters, money letter, sail sports magazine, a letter to Ramsoate and vacation letter, thanks for all of them. Those towns with mail waiting are always the most difficult to reach. We have had a lot of westly travels and therefore, wind against us. Furthermore there is a strong current running, some places as much as 5 knots, so we have to sail during the 6 hours when its running with us and it is just at 3 to 4 o’clock in the morning or in the evening, but since we don’t like to sail wnen its dark we have tried to get up early so we set the alarm in Anna to cry, but it turned out that she didn’t work very often. Lars sleeps to the big gold medal, still now we have reached “Restmore’s” birthplace, have seen the shed where she was built, the water she was swimming in for the first time, we wished that we could have had her as she looked 24 years ago, shiny and sparkling new with good water tanks, W.C. and electric lights, all the things we hope so much to have. The man who helped us tie up recognized and immediately remembered “Restmore”. we have got the information that the man who got “Restmore” built had got 2 others built and then with strange names as “Restless” and the 3rd boat he named “Restmore”. Poole is a very idyllic place situated at a bay where a lot of small inlets go into the countryside. There are probably a thousand boats anchored here. We like it very much in England, we eat the finest fat free bacon. To support the farmers, also because it is nice and cheap. We arrived at Portsmouth 1/2 hour before the impressive fleet review and saw as much as possible of that kind of thing, but we have planned to tell that to the “Vikingen” which you also can read. From there we went to Cowes where the big races were going on, where Peter went to the Yacht Club for a page for our book, where he was treated with whiskey by a gentleman with a yachts as big as “Danebrog” itself. Afterwards we read in our book that it is England’s finest Club 2000 kronen entrance fee and 300 Kvonen membership yearly, good thing that the Amateur Club is cheaper. This writing paper comes from there. On the way Lars became educated as a fisherman, seven mackerels, 2 got away again. Since we are thinking of doing some repairs on “Restmore” here in Poole we will stay here around 14 days. afterwards the address will be postmaster Plymouth. The sailboat “Restless” has shown itself practical. We go with it today the 28th it was in a sailboat race. We sit in it all day and I’m covered with red spots on my behind. It has no cushions and there is also a litte bit of water that you sit in. It’s 9 meters long and 2.5 meters wide, painted white with a red and blue stripe along the rail and it’s blue inside and it will be christened with champagneand will get the name “Restless” and photos will follow in the next letter. “Restless” is nice but Peter and I were participating in the race and we had a wonderful triangular race course, but Peter had brought the wind guards with 1 liter of rum so he won. Today we got your card from Utzen.
