Barcelona, 2/5/1936
We thank you very much for your long letter and have shivering read the stories of your winter and I have recognized with joy Niels Juel (a statue) as snowman, While Lars had more enjoyment out of studying choo choo trains, cars, and buses. I told him that he must not tear them in pieces, they were mailed to us from Marie and Valdemar, then he with tenderness repeated “Our little Valdemar”. He imagines apparently something like “Halo”. As you can see Barcelona is keeping us here although more on account of the Spanish slow speed than on account of their hot-blooded temperament. I believe or Peter says that the Spanish women are too painted up to be charming – but that is only something he says – in reality a journey to Spain pays off. We haven’t heard about any disturbances at all, except what we read in foreign newspapers and that the policemen walked around with guns while the election was held and 3 in a group instead of 2 and now this pre-caution has also been canceled, the real reason that we are laying here and let our bottom get full of weeds is that the movie theater still has not shown us On the big screen, but soon it will probably happen.
