The world we
live in ©
By Joseph P. Gimenez
2010 for the Red Hook Series
The world revolves each day,
spinning out in space
It holds many varied peoples
we call the human race
Sometimes we disagree then
KABOOM you hear the sound
When words no longer work to
fix the problems that were found.
Luckily, we have an ace that
lies just up our sleeves
It’s called the human brain
although at time it deceives
Your conscience is next in
line but that too may not go far
For there are two sides for
everything, and sometimes you don’t get far.
Finally, we have the only
thing that makes sense sometimes
It’s the rhythm of one’s
heart beat one thump at a time
It tells us that we’re alive
and where there’s life there’s hope
That man will someday find
the answers, and enable us to cope.
So, when you look up at the
sky each night remember we’re not alone
We have unknown entities
that live within our home
They protect us each day
whether we think so or not
Its only with their
protection that we’ve got as far as we’ve got.
