Yesterday When I was young,
I had so many things I wanted to get done,
I had so many dreams that I had planned,
now they have all vanished like shifting sand.
Yesterday, the rose was in full bloom,
It had no thorns and brought fragrance to each room,
Now the petals have all withered away,
just like my dreams of yesterday.
Yesterday, I found joy in everything,
The day gave me lyrics to songs I could sing
The woman I found would wear my wedding ring,
In these days I thought my happiness would never end.
Could it be that I was wrong?
Could it be there is no meaning to this song?
Just like my dreams they have come and gone.
And now I feel empty like I don’t belong.
Yesterday my friends were very near
Now these days I seldom hear
From those I knew so very well
But now yesterday from today I cannot tell.
That happy days and friends would never end,
But I was foolish for things pass away,
Just like the days of yesterday.
Yesterday When I was young,
I had so many things I wanted to get done,
I had so many dreams that I had planned,
now they have all vanished like shifting sand.
