Fathers Day ©
By Joseph P. Gimenez
2010 for the Red Hook Series
Fathers Day may come once a year
But he is there
with every tear
His words may hurt at times I know
But their meanings will eventually show
So if you have a father dear
You can count on him without any fear
to be the one to turn to when things go wrong
for this person we call Dad, Poppy, Father
Is one to whom we belong.
He keeps us in line and gives us support
When we need it the most and when we are hurt,
Our mentor, our
friend and the person we seek,
When things go awry at the end of the week.
So Raise you glass and give a cheer
To the symbol of our family and guiding hand,
Who thru thick and thin together he'll stand
And On this day give him acknowledgement of all That trust
Which You placed in his hand and he healed with his touch.
Happy Fathers Day,
In Memory of Jose Isidero Gimenez Nadir (Deceased September
1960)
